He has worked for 27 years as an engineer and business development senior manager and executive in the defense/aerospace field. He holds a BS degree from West Point, an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from The Wharton School. He has diverse affiliations with business, civic, social, and military fraternal organizations and sits on the Board of Directors for several organizations.  Ambassador Hashem is a decorated combat veteran and retired as a Major General with thirty seven years of combined Active and Army Reserve service.
