Army Reserve Ambassador Christie L. Nixon retired as a Brigadier General with over 36 years of service to the US Army Reserve.  BG(R) Nixon commanded at every grade except 2LT, and her final assignment was Commander, Military Intelligence Readiness Command (Ft. Belvoir, VA).  Other assignments include: Deputy Commanding General, US Army Intelligence and Security Command (Ft. Belvoir, VA); Commander, CENTCOM Army Reserve Element/J2 (Tampa, FL); Human Terrain Team Leader, Joint Task Force 10 (Kandahar, Afghanistan); Commander, 2100th Military Intelligence Group (Dayton, OH); Commander, 2/84th MI BN (mobilized at Ft. Huachuca, AZ); S3, 2/84th MI BN (Ft. McCoy, WI); Commander, 216th Quartermaster Company (Mankato, MN); S4, 134th MI BN (Ft. Snelling, MN); Commander, HHD, 147th MI BN (Ft. Snelling, MN).  She worked as a fisheries biologist for the MN Department of Natural Resources in Waterville, MN for eight years and was a firefighter/EMT for the Minneapolis Fire Department for 16 years, retiring from MFD in 2017.

She is a graduate of the US Army War College, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education Course, Military Intelligence and Quartermaster Advanced Courses, Signal Intelligence Officer Course, Military Police Officer Basic Course and other professional courses.
