The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Historic colors returned to transportation battalion in Europe
Alumni from the 729th Railway Operating Battalion pose with the unit's historical colors during a ceremony in New Haven, Conn. on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, where the colors were returned to U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Col. Roland Foss, commander of the 729th Transportation Battalion, 7th Mission Support Command. The original colors, a relic from 1942, adorned with four campaign steamers, were kept by the final battalion commander following the unit's deactivation in 1976. His widow surrendered them to a trusted retired officer for safekeeping, eventually returning them to the current unit leadership of the 729th. The 7th Mission Support Command is the U.S. Army Reserve presence in Europe. Comprised of 26 units across Germany and Italy, the 7th MSC provides logistical and sustainment resources in support of U.S. Army Europe and Africa missions.
