The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. More than 220 Soldiers competed in the 2022 U.S. Army Small Arms Championships at Fort Benning, Georgia March 13-19. The week-long competition, known as All Army, is an annual competition hosted by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) in conjunction with the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) that brings together Soldiers from all components: active duty, Reserve, National Guard and ROTC. During this marksmanship event, the Soldiers competed in nine separate courses of fire and shot over 146,000 rounds of rifle and pistol ammunition. Though All Army earns the Soldiers coveted trophies and bragging rights, the overall purpose of the training event is to develop Soldiers’ marksmanship skills, recognize superior skills and raise the standards of marksmanship across the entire force.
