The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Some Heroes Wear Quilts: Army Reserve Soldier recognized by Quilts of Valor during International Quilting Festival

Kirkpatrick, commander, commander, 475th Quartermaster Group, U.S. Army Reserve, and senior leaders and club members of Quilts of Valor stand below Old Glory during the International Quilting Festival in Houston Nov. 3, 2022. Kirkpatrick, who in her civilian capacity serves as the suicide prevention program manager, 75th Innovation Command, U.S. Army Reserve, was invited to the Festival by senior leaders of Quilts of Valor to receive a handmade quilt from one of its members. Since 2003, the Quilts of Valor Foundation has covered veterans and service members touched by war with handmade quilts made by one of more than 10,000 Foundation members spread throughout the country.
