Shoot to kill the virus: Chief of Army Reserve receives COVID-19 vaccine shot

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines work by using transient information carrying molecules (mRNA) to teach our cells to make a protein that triggers antibody formation to create an immune response in our bodies. The mRNA is synthetic, not extracted from actual viruses, and it does not enter or interact with your body’s own DNA. The vaccine requires two doses, so Lt. Gen. Daniels is setting up the appointment to receive her second dose in about 21-28 days.
