The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Wreath laying honors President McKinley
CANTON, Ohio – Army Sgt. Marty Maggart, bugler, 338th Army Band, 88th Readiness Division, plays Taps during a ceremony honoring former President William McKinley Jan. 25, 2020 in Canton, Ohio. Taps, a 24-note song, is traditionally played at U.S. military funerals and memorials and was first played during the Civil War in 1862 to signify lights out. McKinley enlisted the Ohio Volunteer Army in 1861 and fought alongside future president Rutherford B. Hayes during the Civil War.
