The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. East Tennessee Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
CH (MAJ) Ben Chitwood with the 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support) volunteered with the East Tennessee Honor Flight to accompany 21 Veterans (three WW2, four Korean War and 14 Vietnam War) to Washington D.C. to visit military memorials dedicated to their service. "One of the best moments of this trip was getting to accompany a 92 year old Marine WW2 veteran as he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown. He was so moved to have that honor," said Chitwood.
