The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Soldiers help Team USA secure medals & Olympic quotas at Pan American Games
U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Sandra Uptagrafft, 98th Training Division (IET), wins the Gold Medal in Women's Sport Pistol at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. The Gold Medal win also secured an Olympic Quota for the United States in the Sport, which means Team USA can now send the full team of two athletes to the 2020 Olympic Games to compete in that event. Uptagrafft is a Phenix City, Alabama resident who also competed in the 2012 Olympics and is married to another 2012 Olympian, U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Eric Uptagrafft, who is a competitive marksman/instructor at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning, Georgia.
