Master Sgt. Michel Sauret, with the 200th Military Police Command’s public affairs office, holds a plaque for the George Mason University “Made a Difference Award,” which he received during a ceremony at the EagleBank Arena, in Fairfax, Virginia, February 10, 2019. Sauret received the award on behalf of the U.S. Army Reserve for his public affairs achievements that include winning the 2018 Military Visual Awards Photographer of the Year and his direct mentorship of Soldiers who have won Army Photographer of the Year, Army Journalist of the Year, Army Reserve Outstanding New Writer and Army Reserve Photographer of the Year. Sauret’s work is consistently published by Military Times and Army Times along with dozens of websites, blogs and social media websites around the globe. His work has earned more than a dozen individual DOD Awards for photography, video and journalism in the last five years, making him one of the top photojournalists in the United States military. He is also the lead organizer for the Army Reserve Storytelling Workshop, a training event designed to advance Soldiers’ abilities to promote the Army brand through impactful stories using photography and video.
