The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Army Reserve brigades host their first gunnery exercise; train nearly 400 Soldiers
Army Reserve Pvt. Michaell Brown, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) specialist and native of Palacious, Texas, assigned to the 340th Chemical Company, 450th Chemical Battalion, 209th Regional Support Group, 76th Operational Response Command, pulls the charging handle of a M2 .50 caliber machine gun as he and his crew prepare to engage targets during a daytime blank-firing gunnery event at Fort Hood, Texas, July 10. Nearly 400 Army Reserve Soldiers from the 415th Chemical Battalion and the 209th Regional Support Group, 76th ORC are currently conducting a variety of gunnery related training at Fort Hood as part of exercise Dragon Fire from June 27 – July 21. The 25-day brigade-led exercise provides an opportunity for the participating Ready Force X units to conduct training and qualification to meet the same gunnery requirements as Operation Cold Steel, while providing a gunnery infrastructure for future qualification events.
