The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Building community partnerships for military sexual assault victims
Kyana Nesbitt (right), the Lead Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) for the 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support), and Phyllis Miller (left), a 30-year experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Day League Sexual Assault Care and Prevention Center formerly known as the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, discuss community resources available to military sexual assault victims. Outside of what the resources the military already provides, Nesbitt hopes to build enough community partnerships that will give soldiers and civilians within the 3d MCDS the opportunity to report to facilities closest to their home of record.
