The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Philadelphia Stripes and Stars Festival
Pvt. Alex Horanczy, a Pearl Harbor Survivor who served with the 42nd Infantry Division during World War II, is honored June 14 during the Stripes and Stars Festival celebrating the U.S. Army 242nd birthday at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Horanczy joined Maj. Gen. Troy D. Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command, and retired Gen. Carter F. Ham, president and CEO of the Association of the United States Army and former commander of U.S. Africa Command, in cutting the Army birthday cake during the event.
