The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Simulated Guts Yield Glory at Maple Resolve 17
Special effects team members Jenni MacDonald and Stacy Wegner apply prosthetic wounds to a role player who will act as a simluated castualty on a training mission as part of Maple Resolve 17, the Canadian Army's premiere brigade-level validation exercise running May 14-29 at Camp Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. The role players fulfill an integral part in the training, allowing the Soldiers to react to life-like, real-time situations ranging from medevac, hostile enemies and media engagements. As a part of the exercise, the U.S. Army is providing a wide array of combat and support elements. These elements include sustainment, psychological operations, public affairs, aviation and medical units. Readiness is the U.S. Army Reserve's number one priority. Reserve units participating in Maple Resolve 17 will sharpen individual skill sets while enhancing overall unit readiness.
