The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. CBRN Soldiers decontaminate scenario victim
Soldiers from the 51st Chemical Company, 83rd Battalion, stationed in Fort Stewart, Ga., decontaminate a scenario victim before he can be assessed by medics April 29, 2017, as part of Exercise Guardian Response at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Ind. Guardian Response is a multi-component training exercise run by the U.S. Army Reserve designed to validate more than 4,000 service members in Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) in the event of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) catastrophe. This year's exercise simulated an improvised nuclear device explosion with a source region electromagnetic pulse (SREMP) out to more than four miles. The 84th Training Command is the hosting organization for this exercise, with the training operations run by the 78th Training Division, headquartered in Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.
