The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. 364th ESC and USACE conduct second partnering meeting
TACOMA, Wash.– Soldiers in the 364th ESC and its Pier 23-based watercraft units met with representatives from the Army Corps of Engineers for its second Partnering Workshop in Tacoma 19-21 JULY. The gathering was a follow-up from the original partnering meeting conducted April 2016. The ongoing partnership was first initiated to address critical maintenance deficiencies for watercraft that left vessel readiness below the Army’s standard. Due to the utilization of the USACE’s innovative solutions and capabilities, the watercraft units’ readiness rose to 75% in less than one year. Shortened timelines for contracts, resources for parts, and manning capabilities (electrician specifically) are some of the specific capabilities the USACE used to enhance vessel readiness. The more recent partnership meeting provided a project update to stakeholders. New initiatives were also discussed in work groups. The partnership’s goal is to develop and execute a preventative maintenance program, and logistical pipeline. The program will increase the readiness levels, reduce the contracting time, improve the parts processes, capture GPC demands, and create critical spare parts to reduce watercraft vessel non-mission capable time.
