The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. Reserve Soldiers help raise military awareness at 2016 Milwaukee Armed Forces Day
Major Harold Aprill, the executive officer for the 3rd Battalion, 399th Regiment, shows a young boy and his father the durability of a Humvee during the 2016 Armed Forces Day celebration at the Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Museum, May 21, 2016. Aprill, who is also a member of the Milwaukee Armed Services Committee, helped organize the event which capped off an entire week of activities for Milwaukee's Armed Forces Week. Aprill and reservists from the 3/399th, as well as volunteers from the other branches, helped raise military awareness by displaying military vehicles and explaining to civilians their current role in supporting ongoing military efforts around the world. Service members past and present mingled with the crowd throughout the day, a highlight of which was the 13th annual Support the Troops Ride which featured over 300 motorcycle riders.
