The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. 88th RSC leadership visits maintenance facilities
Brig. Gen. R.A. Bassford, deputy commanding general of the 88th Regional Support Command, speaks with Eric Tissue, supervisor of 88th RSC Area Maintenance Support Activity Shop 165, during a site visit to Monclova, Ohio, Jan. 29. The visit was part of a 400 mile tour across central and northern Ohio to visit 88th RSC maintenance shops and meet with their personnel. The 88th RSC operates a total of 47 Maintenance Shops across its 19-state region. Together they provide critical support to more than 600 Army Reserve units by performing maintenance for over 50,000 pieces of equipment. “There is no substitute for actually going out to meet the people who do the work, hearing their views and seeing their challenges first hand,” said Bassford. “That’s one way we can help ensure we are providing them with the help to do their jobs better in order to support our customers more effectively.”
