The U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division hosted a Yellow Ribbon event Sept. 12-14 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown. Rev. Dr. Paul V. McCullough III, Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, served as keynote speaker for the event. Yellow Ribbon events span the deployment cycle - pre-deployment prep, mid-tour virtual check-ins and post-deployment reintegration - to connect families with vital resources, all backed by the program’s emphasis on family well-being. ASF Olathe receives ROA’s Outstanding USAR Aviation Support Facility Award
Deputy Aviation Program Manager Michael Walsh gives Maj. Gen. David Conboy, USARC deputy commanding general of operations, a tour of Aviation Support Facility (ASF) Olathe during a site visit Oct. 19 in New Century, Kan. ASF Olathe has received the 2014 Reserve Officers Association’s (ROA’s) Outstanding USAR Aviation Support Facility Award. The Outstanding USAR Aviation Support Facility Award is intended to recognize the top ASF in the U.S. Army Reserve and ASF Olathe edged out the other 16 ASFs to earn the 2014 crown. ASF Olathe is one of the 17 ASFs under command and control of the 11th Theater Aviation Command (TAC). The 11th TAC is the only aviation command in the U.S. Army Reserve and has over 4,200 soldiers, 700 civilians and 190 aircraft dispersed across 13 different states. (U.S. Army Photo by Capt.
