KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Members of Master Sgt. Jerry Sanchez, Jr.'s close and extended family, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, and members of the U.S. Army Reserve and Missouri National Guard attend a memorialization ceremony to rename his former reserve center in his honor, April 5, 2025, in Kansas City, Mo. Sanchez was tragically killed in 2023 by a drunk driver. Sanchez’s tremendous positive impact on his community, his consummate mentorship and leadership of soldiers, and how he lived the Army’s core values each day were deciding factors for his selection for memorialization.
