DETROIT - DETROIT, Mich. - A Veteran at the 17th annual Veterans Day parade gives the opening speech on November 6, 2022. “The Veterans Day Parade is known as the Armed Services Salute, honoring service from veterans, active military, and community volunteers with a motto of “Inspiring patriotism through community service.” (Army Reserve photo by Pfc. Joseph Honce, 220th Public Affairs Detachment). The Armed Service Salute is and has always been a celebration of Michigan's Veterans, active military, civilian community support, and the authentic patriotism inspired by that collaboration. This event solidifies trust and solidarity between the community and the Armed Services. The Armed Service Salute is a patriotic Veterans Day celebration in Corktown, Detroit, anchored at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local NO. 58 Union Hall (IBEW).
