GILLEM ENCLAVE, Ga. - Command Sergeant Major Andrew Lombardo, the Army Reserve Command Sergeant Major, held a town-hall for 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support) enlisted Soldiers, 11 April. This was an opportunity for 3d MC(DS) Soldiers to ask questions on Soldier related issues and gather information on Army Reserve priorities. "The Army Reserve’s number one priority is taking care of its people," Lombardo said. Lombardo stressed the importance of operationalizing 'This is My Squad' in our formations, saying, "We must trust and empower our squad leaders but with that trust comes great responsibility. Squad Leaders must take ownership of their squads.” He also highlighted the “Army Reserve Golden Diamond”, which highlights the Squad Leader as the most important leader in a Soldier’s life and the battle buddy as an influencer but also demonstrating how important it is for the Army Reserve to care for the Soldier’s family and civilian employer. In this way the Army will be able to achieve its second priority, readiness.
