The outgoing commander of the 2500th Digital Liaison Detachment, Col. Christopher Varhola, thanks his Soldiers after receiving a meritorious service medal during a ceremony Aug. 17 at Camp Normandy, Grafenwoehr, Germany. Varhola will retire this November after almost 30 years of service in the U.S. Army.

GRAFENWOEHR, Germany - Soldiers with the 2500th Digital Liaison Detachment were recognized for their achievements and service during an awards and promotion ceremony Aug. 17 at Camp Normandy, Grafenwoehr, Germany. The recognition was the final act of outgoing commander Col. Christopher Varhola as he emphasized that his command was only possible because of the individuals who make up the unit.
