SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Brig. Gen. Dustin A. Shultz, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Reserve 1st Mission Support Command, speaks to the media during a press conference at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, Nov. 15, 2017, explaining how America’s Army Reserve supported the recovery operations in the aftermath of hurricane Maria. As part of this emergency response mission, the Army Reserve PAOs in Puerto Rico had to coordinate synchronized messages in concert with the Joint Force Land Component Commander (JFLCC) PAOs, and the Federal Emergency Management Administration’s (FEMA) External Affairs Officers, to properly communicate a message that included Army Reserve narratives, as part of a total recovery effort.
