WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. - U.S. Army Reserve 1st Sgt. Terrance France, first sergeant of the 877th Quartermaster Company, passes mile marker 19 on the 26 mile Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, Mar. 17, 2019. The Bataan Memorial Death March is a challenging march through the high desert terrain of the White Sands Missile Range that takes place each spring. The memorial march is conducted in honor of the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II, sacrificing their freedom, health, and, in many cases, their very lives.
