During a luncheon held at the Camp Zama Dining Facility Aug. 25, 2016, LTG Charles D. Luckey, commanding general, United States Army Reserve Command, speaks with Army Reserve Soldiers currently assigned to U.S. Army Japan. Luckey visited Japan to understand the close partnership between USARJ and the Army Reserve. The short yet informative tour also gave Luckey a rare opportunity to directly engage with Soldiers working and training in Japan and promote the Army Reserve’s new vision of becoming a lethal, capable and combat ready force prepared to face the unique challenges of the Pacific. Luckey encouraged the Reserve Soldiers permanently and temporarily assigned to Japan to help him find the perfect balance between building readiness and providing capacity.
