Soldiers assigned to the U.S. Army Reserve Augmentation Unit (UAU) depart the landing zone aboard UH60 “Blackhawk” helicopters assigned to A-Company 1-169 Aviation Regiment of the U.S. Army Reserve following a land navigation and orienteering exercise during their Battle Assembly on June 4, 2016 at Fort Bragg, N.C. The training involved movement to the training are via U.S. Army Reserve "Blackhawk" helicopters then navigating to fixed points using a map, compass and protractor.
The mission of the UAU is to augment United States Army Reserve Command staff during exercises, crisis actions, or a presidential selective reserve call-up.
