FORT GILLEM, Ga. - Col. Brian P. Friedland, the new Army Medical Department Professional Management Command commander, addresses the troops for the first time during the APMC Change of Command Ceremony held Monday, Aug. 23 at Fort Gillem in Forest Park, Georgia. Headquartered at Fort Gillem, the APMC is a direct reporting unit to Army Reserve Medical Command and is responsible managing over 1000 Army Reserve Soldiers with critical medical specialties assigned to USAR units and attached to APMC for personnel, training, finance, and professional credentialing. It currently has numerous soldiers deployed worldwide in the global war on terrorism. APMC provides mission and command support to assigned and attached Army Reserve medical officers and conducts centralized credentialing for all Army Reserve medical providers.
