DETROIT - U.S. Army Reserve Captains Phillip McClain, an emergency room nurse, and Shannon Bigelow, an operating room nurse at the TCF Center pose for a photo in Detroit, Michigan, May 3, 2020. McClain and Bigelow are from the 801st Combat Support Hospital, now deployed to Detroit as part of the Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force 801-2. They have provided care for COVID-19 patients since the task force arrived in Detroit in early April. The 620,000 square foot convention center has been transformed into a temporary regional care facility. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
