FOREST PARK, Ga. - The official party bowed their heads for benediction during the Army Medical Department Professional Management Command Change of Command ceremony held on Monday, June 18, 2018 in Forest Park, Georgia. U.S. Army Reserve Col. Todd Traver assumed command of from Col. Regina Powell, the outgoing commander, during the ceremony presided over by Army Reserve Medical Command commanding general, Maj. Gen. Mary Link. The Change of Command ceremony symbolizes the continuation of leadership and unit identity despite the change of individual authority. It also represents the transfer of power from one leader to another; passing the ceremonial flag from outgoing to incoming commander is a physical representation of that transfer.
