Elk Grove Village, Ill. - World War II veteran Al Mampre, Easy Company, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, enters the Elk Grove High School gymnasium with U.S. Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, Commanding General, 85th Support Command, during the high school’s Veterans Day ceremony, Nov. 9, 2018. Belanger was the keynote speaker for the event and attended with veterans from each of the service branches to include Mampre, who served with the famed 101st Airborne Division’s Easy Company, 506th Infantry Regiment. Mampre’s unit story was featured on the mini-series “Band of Brothers”. Belanger also participated in a panel discussion with veterans sharing their stories and answering questions from the students about service.
