Former Railsplitter turns 100, reflects on extraordinary life

FORT KNOX, Ky. - Lt. Col. (Retired) Russell Shurr holds a case displaying medals, patches and rank from his military career that spanned more than three decades at his home in Sun City, Florida on Aug. 9, 2018. Shurr turned 100 on July 25th and recently spoke about his time spent under the 84th Division (84th Training Command) and his deployment to World War II.
