Army Reserve chemical Soldiers depart for yearlong deployment

FORT HOOD, Texas - Kerry A. Welch, a representative from the USO at Fort Hood, Texas gets a high five from his dog Lucy at the Robert Gray Airfield Feb. 25, in front of nearly 100 Army Reserve Soldiers from the 300th Chemical Company, 485th Chemical Battalion, 415th Chemical Brigade, 76th Division (Operational Response). The group of Soldiers are deploying to Southwest Asia for the next 12 months in support of U.S. Central Command and the War on Terrorism. The Soldiers have spent the past couple of months conducting a variety of training exercises at Fort Hood to build, hone and maintain their capabilities, readiness and lethality.
