Some Heroes Wear Quilts: Army Reserve Soldier recognized by Quilts of Valor during International Quilting Festival

HOUSTON - During opening day of the International Quilt Festival Nov. 3, 2022, in Houston, Col. Tina L. Kirkpatrick, commander, commander, 475th Quartermaster Group, U.S. Army Reserve, and Donna Swanson, New Hampshire state coordinator, Quilts of Valor, look at "The Memories That Remain," an award winning quilt designed by Lynn Czaban. Kirkpatrick, who, in her civilian capacity, is also the suicide prevention program manager for the 75th Innovation Command, U.S. Army Reserve, received a custom quilt presented by Swanson and her staff at Quilts of Valor, a national organization with more than 10,000 members who have made more than 300,000 quilts designed for veterans and service members in honor of their service and sacrifice.
