Building community partnerships for military sexual assault victims

DECATUR, Ga. - Kyana Nesbitt (center), the Lead Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) for the 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support), and Phyllis Miller (right), a 30-year experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Day League Sexual Assault Care and Prevention Center formerly known as the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, discuss community resources available to military sexual assault victims. During a tour of the facility, Miller showed Nesbitt techniques used during previous therapy sessions for victims to share words in describing their thoughts and feelings from their traumatic experiences and healing recovery.
