MISSION: 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support) provides C4I, Title X support and technical supervision for over 7,300 Soldiers, in 90 units; from Maine to Louisiana, during garrison operations to prepare and provide trained and ready Soldiers and units to U.S. Army Reserve Command for mobilization. On order mobilize, deploy and redeploy forces to support our nation's defense anywhere in the world and, in particular, establish the 3d MC(DS) as the single medical enabler supporting Army Central across the full spectrum of operations in the Central Command area of responsibility while delivering state-of-the-art, cutting edge combat healthcare to U.S. service members and other personnel in accordance with the Medical Rules of Engagement.

The 3d MC (DS) provides C4I, Title X support and technical supervision for over 7,300 Soldiers, in 90 units; from Maine to Louisiana, to prepare and provide trained and ready Soldiers and units to U.S. Army Reserve Command for mobilization.
Designated by the Chief of Military History as the “Desert Medics,” 3d MC(DS) directly supports Army Central Command across the full spectrum of operations in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, delivering state-of-the-art combat healthcare to U.S. service members and other personnel in accordance with the Medical Rules of Engagement.
Originally an active Army command with a history dating back to World War II, the 3d MC(DS) was allotted into the Army Reserve in June 1997 and was activated at Decatur, Georgia.
