U.S. Army officers graduate among hundreds of Kings Pointers
U.S. Army lieutenants take the Oath of the Commissioned Officer for the second time that day during their graduation ceremony at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, June 18. Maj. Gen. Phillip Churn, commanding general of the 200th Military Police Command, U.S. Army Reserve, a native of Washington, D.C., administered the Oath of Commissioned Officers for six Army lieutenants. The 2016 graduating class included 229 senior midshipmen, each earning a Bachelor of Science degree, a direct commission into the armed forces and a U.S. Coast Guard license.
