Kansas City area Army Reserve aviation hangar dedicated to fallen Soldier
U.S. Army Reserve Aviation Command Commanding General, Brig. Gen. H. Allan Cutchin, speaks at a ceremony renaming an aviation hangar after Chief Warrant Officer 2 Bryan J. Nichols in New Century, Kansas, on August 6, 2021. Nichols was a CH-47 Chinook helicopter pilot who was killed in action in Afghanistan August 6, 2011, along with 29 other service members. Family, dignitaries, fellow service members and Department of Defense Civilians attended the ceremony held at the New Century air hangar home to Nichols' unit, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment (General Support Aviation Battalion). The unit continues to mobilize in support of U.S. DoD missions at home and around the world.
