ARMEDCOM bids farewell to outgoing commander; welcomes new leadership
Sgt. First Class Theresa Winterhalter presents flowers to Kinsey Dona, Maj. Gen. Mary Link’s daughter-in-law, who is holding grandson, Theodore, during Army Reserve Medical Command’s change of command ceremony in Pinellas Park, Florida held on March 31, 2019. Link, outgoing commanding general for ARMEDCOM, relinquished command to Maj. Gen. Jonathan Woodson, incoming commanding general for ARMEDCOM, headquartered in Pinellas Park, Florida. The change of command ceremony symbolizes the continuation of leadership and unit identity despite the change of individual authority. It also represents the transfer of power from one leader to another; passing the ceremonial flag from outgoing to incoming commander is a physical representation of that transfer.
