Army Reserve Soldiers sharpen disaster response skills
Army Reserve Spc. Robert Motley, a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) specialist and native of Savannah, Georgia, assigned to the 414th Chemical Company, 415th Chemical Brigade, 76th Operational Response Command, sprays down a civilian role-player to begin the decontamination process during decontamination operations at exercise Vibrant Response 18 at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Muscatatuck, Indiana April 14. More than 1000 Army Reserve Soldiers from Task Force 76, 76th Operational Response Command, are currently participating in exercise Vibrant Response 18 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. The 10-day annual exercise is designed to train the task force units which include chemical, medical, military police and engineers, to react to and provide support to state and local authorities in the event of a National disaster requiring federal response. The exercise includes a command post exercise, as well as security operations, search and rescue, decontamination and medical treatment of injured personnel.
