Ambassador Bockel retired on 31 December, 2014 as the Veterans Program Liaison – Governor’s Office of Workforce Development, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Atlanta, Georgia. He now serves as the Georgia State Chairman for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and Vice Chairman of USO Georgia.   He also serves as a mentor in the Veterans Court in Cobb County, Georgia and is the head of the court’s Bravo Victor Fund non-profit that benefits service members who come before the court.  He is also a director of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, the Atlanta Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America and the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association.  He is a graduate of the Army War College and holds military occupational specialties in Armor, Quartermaster, Ordnance, Signal, and Transportation.
