75th Training Command

Command Sergeant Major Richard T. Schoenberger was born in Spokane, WA. He entered active duty on 15 July 1985. He attended Basic and Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, GA.

Upon completion of training, he was assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion 75th INF REGT, Hunter Army Airfield, GA. In 1989, he entered the Army Reserves and was assigned to the 3rd BN 413th REGT 2nd BDE 104th DIV (TNG), Spokane, WA.

In 1994, he relocated to San Antonio, TX and was reassigned to the 4164th USAR School. In 1998, he was reassigned to the 1st BN 355th REGT 95th DIV (TNG), Camp Bullis, TX. In 2000, he was reassigned to the 2nd Bde 75th DIV (TS) Fort Sam Houston, TX. In 2004, he was reassigned to US Army South, Fort Sam Houston, TX. In 2006, he was appointed to the rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM) and selected as the CSM of the 228th Combat Support Hospital, 807th MCDS, Fort Sam Houston, TX. In 2010, he was selected as the CSM of the 321st Civil Affairs Brigade, USACAPOC(A), San Antonio, TX. In 2015 he was selected as the CSM of the 350th Civil Affairs Command, USACAPOC(A), Pensacola, FL. In 2016, he was selected as the CSM of the 75th Training Command, Houston, TX.

He is a graduate of the Airborne, Ranger, Drill Sergeant Schools, the Small Group Instructor Course, the Observer Controller Trainer Course, the Battle Staff NCO Course, the prestigious US Army Sergeant’s Major Academy Class 30 NRC in 2004, the Brigade Battalion Pre-Command Course and the Senior Leader Orientation Course.

He has held five MOSs: 11B, 11C, 13B, 92Y and 00Z and has held leadership positions at all levels throughout his career.

His awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal and Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device.

He holds an A.A.S. degree in the Administration of Justice, an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts from Spokane Community College, and a B.S.O.E degree in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University. He has been a police officer for 21 years and is currently a Detective Investigator with the San Antonio Police Department.

CSM Schoenberger is married to Concha Barrios Schoenberger and has one son and four daughters. He resides in Mico, TX.
