Richard J. “Rick” Brownrigg received his commission in the United States Army Reserve in May of 1986 from the ROTC program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a career Armor officer who commanded Company C, 2nd Battalion 339th Regiment, Company A, 2nd Battalion 339th Regiment 84th Division, the 3rd Battalion, 334th Infantry Regiment, 95th Division and the 209th Regional Support Group, 335th Signal Command (Theater).
In addition to his command tours, key assignments for Colonel Brownrigg include Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G3) 85th Division Support Command and Deputy Commander for the 646th Regional Support Group. In 2011, COL Brownrigg deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn, while assigned to the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command as their Liaison Officer to United States Forces-Iraq. He worked intricately with the United States Forces-Iraq Joint Planning Team (J5/J35) and Joint Staff Directors in planning and executing the very successful logistics support to retrograde operations of all US forces from the Iraq Joint Operations Area (IJOA) culminating in December of 2011.
COL Brownrigg’ s military awards include the Bronze Star awarded in Iraq, 4 Meritorious Service Medals, one Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement Medals and numerous other awards. COL Brownrigg is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Support Operations Course, Combined Arms Staff Services School, and the Command and General Staff College.
In Civilian Life COL Brownrigg manages the Claims Department for Great Lakes Educational Loan Services Incorporated (GLESI) in Madison, Wis., working there for almost 25 years. Besides being an avid parent he is a Master high school football official and is actively involved in numerous professional and civic organizations.
