335th Signal Command (Theater)

Brig. Gen. Jan Haigler received her commission in the Signal Corps through Officer Candidate School in July 1985. While on active duty, she served in a variety of staff positions with the 299th Support Battalion, 93rd Signal Brigade, and the National Simulation Center at Fort Leavenworth. She deployed for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm with the 93rd Signal Brigade. Upon redeployment, she commanded the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 52nd Signal Battalion.

Haigler left active duty in 1996 and entered the Army Reserve, and began serving with the 335th Signal Command (Theater) headquarters and its subordinate units. In October 2011, she mobilized for two years in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom as a Systems Engineer. Upon demobilization, she became the Brigade S3 for the 359th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade in Fort Gordon. Next, she commanded the 324th Expeditionary Signal Battalion before serving as the Deputy Brigade Commander of the 359th TTSB.

In January 2009, Haigler became the G7 at the 335th Signal Command (Theater). In December of the same year, she assumed command of the 505th TTSB in Las Vegas, Nevada. In June 2010, she assumed command of the Small Arms Readiness Group, which later became the Operations Group, 78th Training Division. Her next assignment was as the Deputy Commanding General of the 311th Signal Command (Theater) in July 2011. In September 2014, she became the Military Deputy for Cybersecurity in the Army Chief Information Officer/G6 office. Haigler returned to the 335th Signal Command (Theater) as the Deputy Commanding General - Sustainment in September 2014.

Haigler is a graduate of the Signal Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, and CAPSTONE. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Newberry College and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. She is also a National Security Fellow with the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University.

Some of her awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.

Haigler resides in Prosperity, South Carolina. In her civilian career, she serves as both the Director of Plans and Training and as the Chief of Operations at the 81st Regional Support Command at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
