Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas P. Brashears was assigned as the command sergeant major of the 364th Expeditionary Sustainment Command on Feb. 1, 2014.
A veteran of more than 30 years of service, he enlisted in the Army in 1983.
He has held a wide variety of assignments during his career, including Pay Clerk, Unit Clerk, Squad Leader, Senior Instructor, Course Manager, Opposing Forces Noncommissioned Officer, Observer/Controller, SIDPERS NCO, Platoon Sergeant, Detachment Sergeant, First Sergeant, Processing Sergeant Major, and Operations Sergeant Major.
He has served as a command sergeant major at battalion and brigade level.
Command Sgt. Maj. Brashears is a graduate of the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic NCO Course, Advanced NCO Course, First Sergeant Course, and the Sergeants Major Academy.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
Command Sgt. Maj. Brashears and his wife, Julie, live in Huntington Beach, Calif. They have three sons, a daughter, and three grandchildren.
