Command Sergeant Major Robert B. Breck started his military career with the Arizona Army National Guard on June 26, 1982 and has held every leadership role in his 29-year career with the National Guard and Army Reserve.
He worked for the Utah Highway Patrol for the last 17 years. CSM Breck was appointed as the Command Sergeant Major of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command on August 15, 2011.
CSM Breck’s first assignment was with the 852nd Military Police Company in Yuma, AZ. His subsequent assignments include serving overseas during OPERATION DESERT SHIELD / STORM with the 144th Evacuation Hospital in Saudi Arabia; the 854th Quartermaster Company with a mobilization in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and a deployment to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM; and the 395th Finance Battalion with a deployment to Kuwait in support of OIF / OEF.
During CSM Breck’s 2007 deployment, he was promoted to Sergeant Major with the 104th Division Headquarters and served in that position until his appointment to Command Sergeant Major in July 2008. CSM Breck has completed all NCOES courses to include the First Sergeants Academy and Sergeants Major Academy. He is currently working towards his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish at the University of Utah.

In 2007, he was selected as the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce NCO of the Year. CSM Breck is married with nine children.
