Colonel Charles J. Scheck was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry after graduating from Officer Candidate School in 2001. He began his career with the 3rd Infantry Division, serving as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Support Platoon Leader.
In 2003, he deployed with the 1/30th Infantry to Kuwait and participated in the initial invasion of Iraq as a Rifle Platoon Leader. Following his return, Colonel Scheck transitioned to the Individual Ready Reserve before being recalled to Active Duty during the Iraq surge in 2008–2009, where he served as a Convoy Commander with the 100th Battalion, 442d Infantry Regiment. Over the course of his career, he has been to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Malaysia in support of various global operations.
Colonel Scheck’s career includes a diverse range of leadership and staff assignments, including Battalion S4, Battalion S3, Company Commander, HRC Assignment Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, Brigade S3, Deputy for the Enlisted Management Division at HRC, Operations Officer for the Army Futures Command, and Battalion Commander. He currently serves as the Commanding Officer of the 350th Civil Affairs Command in Pensacola, Florida.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Messiah University, a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Columbia Southern University, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Additionally, he earned a Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. His professional military education includes the National Security Course at the National Defense University, the Command and General Staff College, the Space Operations Officer Qualification Course, Air Force Space 200, and the Civil Affairs Qualification Course.
