Colonel William W. Wood assumed responsibilities as the Chief of Staff, 75th U.S. Army Reserve Innovation Command (USARIC), Headquartered in Houston, TX on 25 August 2025. He received his commission in 2000 from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.
In his previous assignment Colonel Wood served as the Coalition Interoperability Division Chief, Headquarters Department of the Army, ACoS G-6 and also served as Division Chief for the Governance Division and global Army IT Infrastructure Division. Colonel Wood is a graduate of Infantry Officer Basic Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, Air Force Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB, National War College, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C. Colonel Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville, a Master of Science in Military Operations from Air University, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College.
Colonel Wood’s military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Arm Achievement Medal, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Polish, Chilean, Canadian, and German foreign jump wings.
Colonel Wood has three children, an Auburn Graduate (War Eagle), a junior at University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner), and a senior in high school.
