Brig. Gen. Christopher B. Creaghe

Commanding General, 1st Mission Support Command

Brigadier General Christopher B. Creaghe assumed command of the First Mission Support Command in November 2025. He is from San Diego and received his commission from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

He served as a Platoon Leader and Operations Officer in Germany, Israel, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. After transitioning to the Army Reserve, he served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was later a company commander in the 2nd Battalion, 310th Infantry Regiment and as an Emergency Actions Officer for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.

Brigadier General Creaghe spent ten years with various U.S. Special Operations Command and Joint Special Operations Command units, deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, Colombia, Peru, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore. He also worked as the Deputy Special Operations Liaison Officer to the Australian Defense Forces; the Deputy Division Chief for China and Taiwan on the Joint Staff; and Senior Advisor in the Office of the Secretary of War at the Pentagon.

Brigadier General Creaghe had the honor to command both the 440th Civil Affairs Battalion and the 364th Civil Affairs Brigade – the “Frontier Brigade.” 

He holds graduate degrees from Harvard University, the Naval War College, and the Army War College. He has been awarded numerous military awards to include the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman Badge.

In his civilian career, Brigadier General Creaghe is a Foreign Service Officer with the State Department with diplomatic postings to Bogota, Colombia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Canberra, Australia.
