Command Sergeant Major George Camarena is from Orange County, CA and enlisted in the United States Army in September of 2000 as a 52D Generator Mechanic. He attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Knox, KY and Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
CSM Camarena has held multiple positions throughout his Army career, to include Generator Mechanic for the 113th Medical Company, Motor Sergeant for the 113th Medical Company, Motor Sergeant for the 350th Mobility Augmentation Company, Instructor \ Writer for the Fort Cavazos RTS–M, Basic Leader Course Manager for the Camp Parks NCO Academy, First Sergeant for the Fort McCoy NCO Academy, Operations SGM at the Fort McCoy RTS-M, Ordnance Reserve Component SGM for the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps and School, and currently the first AGR 59th Ordnance Brigade Command Sergeant Major.
CSM Camarena’s overseas assignments include a 2003 deployment to Baghdad Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, while serving as a Generator Mechanic for the 113th Medical Company. CSM Camarena once again deployed in 2006 to Baghdad Iraq, serving in the capacity of a Platoon Sergeant and Operations NCOIC. His most recent overseas contribution was to Grafenwöhr Germany, spearheading a TRADOC team in support of Operation Trident Ready.
CSM Camarena earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in human resources and organizational development from the University of Louisville. CSM Camarena is a graduate of the Brigade Pre-Command Course, Pre-Commandant Course, Sergeants Major Course, class 69; as well as all other Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System courses. In addition, SGM Camarena’s military education includes Battle Staff, Master Resilience Trainer, Air Assault, Army Basic Instructor Course, and the Small Group Leader Course.
